Reminiscenses of a World War II POW. In this
presentation, recorded in 1986, Paul Jackson who is
deceased, described the events leading up to and his
circumstances as a prisoner of Japan (Cabanatuan) for over 1,000 days
during World War II. Maps and pictures taken at the time
of his liberation are included.
The following excerpt from his
autobiography written in 1980 will provide you with some
information regarding Paul Jackson's Navy and POW
experience. Paul Jackson was a native of Alabama. He
lived in Shelby and Walker County during most of his
Alabama residence. He was a graduate of the Eldridge
Baptist Academy. The autobiography is entitled "As I
Recall".
